BIOGRAPHY

I was born and raised in San Diego county. After graduating from Poway High School, I moved to northern California and attended UC Davis, where I received bachelor's degrees in both animal science and psychology. During school, I played clarinet in the California Aggie Marching Band-uh! and enjoyed being able to give back to the community through music.

After graduating from UC Davis, I was lucky enough to enter the field of veterinary medicine by working as a receptionist and then as a veterinary technician assistant at Aggie Animal Clinic in Dixon, CA. The doctors and staff at this hospital are amazing and they served to further both my knowledge base and interest in small animal medicine. I continued to work at Aggie Animal Clinic as I started attending the veterinary school at UC Davis. The courses were rigorous but worth all the hard work!

On the advice of one of my mentors at school, after graduation from vet school I accepted an internship position at PetCare Veterinary Hospital, a private practice hospital in Santa Rosa, CA. The internship provided me with numerous great opportunities! These include working closely with several board-certified surgeons, including Dr. Clare Gregory (the father of veterinary kidney transplantation), board-certified internists, as well as numerous seasoned general practitioners.

My professional interests include internal medicine, preventative behavioral medicine, and supporting the human-animal bond. In my free time, I enjoy exploring the different national and state parks in the area and curling up with a good book. My husband and 2 rambunctious cats (Morgan and Captain) occupy much of my time!
